We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to their elders, past, present, and emerging.

Commitment to Child Safety

At the Church of the Ascension we follow Christ in being a caring church welcoming of all, extending his love and invitation of new life. In ministry to children, young people, and vulnerable adults we are committed to providing an environment that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe and supportive. This includes a culture of child-safety and of inclusivity for people of cultural and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background, people with disability, or any other specific group.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES

As well as "Godzone" during school terms which meets on a Sunday during the 9.30am Eucharist, we also run the following programmes for our younger members of the parish:

Every Friday in school term time 9.30am to 11.30am.

  • This is a friendly and welcoming multicultural Playgroup for children aged 0-4 and their parents or carers.

  • We have great toys, free play, craft activities, stories, and songs led by friendly and caring parish volunteers.

  • Each week there is a time of playing, learning, and making new friends for children and adults.

  • The cost is $15 per term per family.
