Children in Advent

   The Church of the Ascension:

 

   *   values children.

 

   *   wants children to enjoy being at church and enjoy being a child of God.

 

   *  supports and cares for young parents in their family roles and engagement with the world beyond church.

 

   *   takes Child Protection seriously -the Church must reflect God’s loving care and be a place of safety for all    children; and all workers are screened and comply with State and Church requirements for working with children.

 

   *   provides fun children’s activities on Sunday Mornings: children’s program (9.30am); fun in church (Kid’s Talks).

 

   *   enjoys Sundays when children lead the service.        

  

   *  works in partnership with World Vision’s Kid’s Hope Program, providing mentors for children at the local primary school.                                           

 

                                                                                                                                                                     

Activities for families and children

 

*   Friday Play Group (9.30-11.30).                                                    

 

*   Young mums Bible Study – fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons.

 

*  facebookgirls@breakfast : meet for breakfast every few weeks, at a local cafe, no children, no partners -girl talk.

 

*   “Gatherings” -young adults of the parish get together for fellowship and social fun on a monthly basis -age 20′s to 40′s, married, single, with and without children; sometimes including children, other times just adults together.

*    Children’s Saturday craft afternoons – 3 or 4 times a year.
